Activities

Over the years, the Knowledge Organization Systems Research Unit has established numerous collaborative relationships with public and private entities (Agency for Digital Italy, Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Calabria Region, Ministry of Economy and Finance, Dedalus SpA, Medas Srl, etc.).

The activities carried out have required strong expertise in the fields of document management, compliant document preservation, clinical data coding, thesauri and authority list construction, with particular specialization in: analysis and development of applications for archival description and inventorying of documents with historical and cultural value; modeling of metadata schemas, controlled lists, and definition of specific policies and standardization systems for Digital Libraries; development of applications for automatic document classification, indexing, and selection; modeling of document flows and administrative procedures; and development of applications for integrated terminology management.
